Gordon “Gordy” Gerhartz, after honorably serving our country in World War II, returned to Sheboygan in 1946 and started painting to support his new family. In 1947, Gordy established Gerhartz Decorating LLC.

Gordy continued to own and operate Gerhartz Decorating until 1981, when his only son Gary carried on the tradition the brush (or torch, so to speak) was passed. Gary continues to manage the business to this day.

Waiting in the wings, Gary’s son Gavin has been involved with the business since 1987 and will continue the tradition.

Gavin’s sons, Nathan and Nicholas, have just entered the family business, making us a fourth-generation business.
